Tom’s Trust’s team of Cambridge Half Marathon runners raises more than £27,000

A charity team of Cambridge Half Marathon Runners has raised a phenomenal £27,588 for children with brain tumours.

The group of 54 runners supporting Tom’s Trust, the children’s brain tumour charity based in Cambridge, far surpassed their goal of raising £17,500 and has now raised enough to support 23 families living with a brain tumour diagnosis.

The event saw 15,000 runners take part in the 13.1-mile route through the historic city. Tom’s Trust had a number of corporate partner teams taking part in the race, including Turners (Soham) Ltd., lululemon’s Cambridge branch, F45 Training Cambridge Station, Cambridge Flat Roofing, Front Foot Creative, Marshall Aerospace, PREM CHEM Ltd., POWOW, Novacyt, Goodwin Law, Peterhouse Financial Planning and Build Momentum, which sponsored the charity’s running vests.

Debs Whiteley, Co-Founder of Tom’s Trust, said:

“We are blown away by all our runners at the Cambridge Half Marathon this year – our biggest team yet. Not only did they all do brilliantly on the day, but they’ve raised so much awareness for childhood brain tumours over the past few months, and fundraised so much more than expected. We can’t thank them enough. The money will make a huge difference to the lives of so many families who are coping with a devastating brain tumour diagnosis.”
