THE MINTRIDGE FOUNDATION: Latest Update

As we near towards the end of the year, The Mintridge Foundation are preparing for our Ambassador Training day and Christmas party, another successful year of inspirational programmes and mentoring. The day, which is held at the end of December welcomes all our Ambassadors, partners and friends of the Foundation to come together for Child Protection training, and a special ‘Brand of You’ training led by our partners, Switch the Play. The training day is an excellent opportunity for the other Mintridge Ambassadors to meet and reflect on the impact they have made this year.

This month the Foundation can announce the arrival of two new inspirational Ambassadors. England Lioness and professional footballer, Laura Bassett has officially joined Team Mintridge. We have also welcomed the Olympic Gold medallist hockey player Shona McCallin to be part of our fantastic team of Ambassadors! You can read all about Laura, Shona or any of our Mintridge Ambassadors at our website http://www.mintridgefoundation.org.uk/ambassadors/.

We had another incredible day on a glorious Sunday at the end of November, when the Foundation and Laura Bassett, arranged for Laura’s two Wootton Park School mentees to watch a Birmingham City Women vs West Ham United Women FC Football match, with an extra special meet and greet opportunity at the end of the game with the players. Laura accompanied the mentees throughout the game where they got to chat with her about the match.

The day overall was a fantastic way to celebrate the mentees’ halfway point in their six months of mentoring with Laura. It was also nice to hear from the mentees’ parents and teachers about how invaluable the mentoring has been for the two girls. We are very grateful for the welcome the two football clubs showed to our mentees and our wonderful Ambassador Laura Bassett.

As November drew to a close, The Mintridge Foundation had the pleasure of delivering a Mintridge Bronze netball Programme, with England Futures netballer and Manchester Thunder’s Superleague player Rebekah Airey, at the brilliant Cowley International College. The Mintridge Foundation was extremely privileged to have been asked to deliver this programme, for the students at the school as part of a programme kindly donated by The Ravensdale Trust. The Trust selected the school to help support the students in the St Helens area. During December, we will also be attending a SportsAid lunch with Fil Kamps, where he will be delivering an inspirational presentation and at the end of the month we will be catching up with our Ambassadors about their exciting news, during our training day. We can’t wait!

As a Foundation, we are excited to reveal just some of the Charity places that we have available for charity events and challenges being held in 2019. We have places in an array of events, including the 100mile Prudential RideLondon event and the 5k Great East Swim. These places are an exciting opportunity for members of the public to get involved in charity challenges while raising money for The Mintridge Foundation. If you are interested in getting involved in any of these events or would like more information about our other fundraising opportunities, please contact our Head of Fundraising, Victoria Partridge at victoria@mintridge.org.uk.
