The FSI’s biennial Skills Gap survey shows that small charities across the UK are struggling to address crucial skills gaps in their team. With charities facing increased demand for services and continuing challenges, these skills gaps present a real issue: knock on impacts reported include increased workloads (59%), increased time to deliver work (46%) and decreased ability to take on new work (43%).
The survey also showed that the most common reasons for not providing or participating in training were because external training is too expensive (73%), followed by difficulties in taking time out of the office (68%). The FSI has therefore ensured that the Skills Conference is affordable for all at just £25, including lunch and refreshments, and aims to give delegates the most value for their time by offering multiple sessions in one day.
