Rob Masson, CEO, of The DPO Centre said:

“I am delighted that The DPO Centre is able to offer our services to ease the burden around data protection and privacy regulation for these four organisations, giving them access to high-quality support and all-important peace of mind.

“A common theme we have seen is that not-for-profit organisations are unable to access the expertise they require, particularly those dealing with sensitive special category data.  At The DPO Centre, we want to have a positive impact, so our team chose causes that align with our core values and ethos.  We look forward to working with these valuable organisations over the coming months.

The successful applicants will receive support across the following areas:

Compliance reviews and gap analysis reports

Policy drafting and reviews

Conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)

Creating and reviewing data sharing and data processing agreements

The DPO Centre Charity and Community Fund is a £100,000 fund, providing charities and not-for-profits (NFPs) with access to the DPO Centre’s industry-leading data protection consultancy services at a rate reduced by 80 per cent. Eligible organisations apply for up to £10,000 of funding each towards consultancy services.

The DPO Centre is the UK’s leading independent data protection officer resource centre, offering expert advice and ensuring organisations have access to the level of knowledge and expertise they require to comply with the highest standards of privacy and data protection.
