The Air Ambulance Service welcomes new ambassador onboard

THE Air Ambulance Service (TAAS) has announced social influencer Jennifer Brady as the charity’s latest ambassador.

Known to the Cheshire influencer’s many followers as ‘Charity Shop Girl’, the charity shop advocate has a passion for sustainability and charity shopping.

With a desire to become an ambassador for charities and to help make 2023 a sustainable year, The Air Ambulance Service became the perfect partnership for Jen, with its impressive portfolio of 56 stores – including three superstores – and extensive reuse department.

Jen made a name for herself with Charity Shop Girl on Instagram and TikTok for her impressive charity shop visits, purchases and pre-loved outfits.

She often explores UK charity shops with her basket in hand, sharing her bargains and encouraging people to shop second-hand and to find their own style through charity shopping. More recently, Jen turned her hand to volunteering to encourage others to do the same for worthy causes like TAAS.

The Air Ambulance Service operates the national Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA), as well as the local Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) and Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA), and is excited to work with Jen to promote the key responsibilities around reuse, recycling, fast fashion, and environmental impact.

The team at TAAS welcomed Jen to its DLRAA airbase at Nottingham Heliport and its Melton Mowbray superstore – The Hanger – where she discovered more about the outstanding and lifesaving work of TAAS, its impressive impact, and ambitious future sustainability and retail campaigns and plans.

Commenting on the partnership, Jen said:

“I’m so honoured to have been asked to be an ambassador. I am so passionate about getting people to shop more sustainably and the fact that shopping in charity shops helps support and contribute to helping TAAS continue the incredible work they do.

“I’m so excited to see what we can achieve together in the wonderful world of charity retail.”

This partnership with Jen has come at an exciting time for the charity which celebrates TCAA’s 10th anniversary, DLRAA’s 15th anniversary and WNAA’s 20th anniversary of vital, lifesaving missions – with each of the charity’s services working tirelessly to save lives and alleviate sickness, wherever and whenever possible.

Excited to have Jen on board, National Retail Manager for the charity, Racheal Abi Rached said:

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the charity, and I am excited to see the partnership develop.

“Jen has such a wide reach and so many creative ideas, I am excited to work together to continue to educate people on all the benefits charity retail has to offer.”

Not only does the charity boast a large portfolio of charity stores across the country, with plans to open more stores this year – including a Sheffield superstore – it also offers a variety of reuse options.

From being the first UK charity offering a full closed-loop recycling service, offering IT Asset Reuse and data wiping services and free home collections of preloved items, to supplying over 1,000 recycling banks nationwide – diverting over 1.6million tonnes a year from landfill – the charity is making strides in driving sustainability.
