Suzy Lamplugh Trust celebrates launch of their first Christmas Advent Calendar

Christmas is coming and at Suzy Lamplugh Trust, we are looking forward to the festive holiday.

Throughout the year, we have shared stories about the people we have worked with, success stories from our campaigns and educational work as well as how we have supported over 3,000 people through the National Stalking Helpline.

People have told us how our work has positively impacted their lives, made them feel and be safer on a day to day basis. 93% of clients who attended our training said that the courses positively impacted on their lives and they would be doing something different in relation to their personal safety as a result.

Clients who received support through the National Stalking Helpline told us how speaking to the team there was the first time they felt listened to and were taken seriously.

We were heavily involved in campaigning for the Stalking Protection Act, which received Royal Assent in March 2019, and will introduce Stalking Protection Orders in 2020. This will provide vital protection to victims of stalking using a combination of prohibition measures & positive obligations of the perpetrator.

To celebrate these achievements and more, we wanted to find a way we could share some of our successes from 2019 and personal safety tips and from that, our very first E-advent calendar was born. Rather than chocolate behind each door, every day a new door is opened, revealing festive personal safety tips, stalking awareness advice, and more.

The E-advent calendar is also a part of our bigger campaign whereby we are asking 1,000 people to donate £5 this Christmas to become ‘1 in a 1,000’. The donations raised from this campaign will allow us to continue our work to support thousands of victims of stalking every year, educate more individuals and organisations in personal safety, and continue our campaigning.

You can check out the advent calendar on any of our social media channels (@Live_Life_Safe) or visit our website for more information. From all of us at the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, we want to say thank you for your support and wish you a very Merry Christmas!
