CAROLINE Brooks, 55, is harnessing the Power of Kindness in order to brave Hallam’s heights, in a feat that she last attempted 40 years ago.
The Early Years’ Professional is raising money for the British Red Cross by taking part in their Steel City Abseil on Saturday 27th October.
But Caroline isn’t just stopping there. “The Power of Kindness resonates with Sheffield Hallam’s nursery ethos of actively showing care to others”, she says. “On Friday 19th October we are having a “wear red” day so that the children can also be involved in supporting the Red Cross.”
The British Red Cross provides many services for people in crisis here in Sheffield and beyond, such as mobility aid loans, practical and emotional support for refugees, and emergency service assistance at house fires and flooding.
Lucy Gray, Community Fundraiser, says, “Caroline is a real inspiration through her passion to raise awareness and make sure that everyone knows the Red Cross is ready to help, should they ever need it. Involving the community in our work and fundraising is what we are all about.

The abseil is down the iconic Owen Building in Sheffield and also involves lots of amazing fancy dress – so why not get creative and join Caroline for the 120ft drop! And definitely keep your eyes peeled for supermen and spiders descending on 27th October.
Sign up for the abseil at www.redcross.org.uk/steel
Entry fee is just £10 and includes a personal fundraising pack, support and training on the day. Contact Lucy Gray for more information on 0114 242 7381 email@example.com
