Hai sa mergem impreuna in Romania! Travel together to Romania!
The weather is getting better, exercise helps us feel better, and what could be more rewarding than helping the incredible residents of Jim’s House? Come join us on our #journeytojimshouse as we travel the distance from Coventry Cathedral to Jim’s House in Romania!
Jim’s House was established in 2019 so that three young people, Alex, Bianca and Ionut, could live there instead of being moved to an Adult Institution. None of us who knew them could bear the thought of them living in an adult centre with a dream they could live one day as a family…this is where Jim’s House became a reality. The cost of their care is £2000 a month. A large amount to find and sustain into the future. Living at Jim’s House has been life-changing. Bianca, Ionut and Alex live as a family; they have opportunities, new experiences, independence and love. We want them to continue to grow together as a family forever. Bianca told us, ‘I am happy with my family. I am happy we were saved’. This is why we do what we do.
Normally during the months from June to August, we support therapy volunteers to work in Sibiu, Romania, but this year we are travelling on a sponsored virtual journey of 3120 miles to Romania and back to help those three young people and raise awareness of Jim’s House.
We took our first step from Coventry Cathedral on June 26th and already have made it to the City of Music, Vienna in Austria!
It is not too late to join us! For the journey, you can include any form of exercise or combine walking, running, jogging, cycling, swimming, golfing, exercise bike or treadmill and why not include pushing the pram, walking the kids to school, and taking the dog out.
