COME and support young people whose lives have been impacted by cancer at the second YouCan Run, which takes place on Sunday 1 October at Leeds Castle in Kent. The run is open to novice runners, fun runners, experienced athletes and also people who would prefer to walk the course at their own pace.
More than 450 people of all abilities took part in the run last year raising more than £12,000 for YouCan Youth Cancer Support. Following on from last year’s huge success and also great enthusiasm amongst Kent running clubs, the organisers are expecting that over 600 people will take part this year.
There are two circular routes to choose from, a 5km or a 10km route which both wind past the castle, through the public grounds and into the private estate of Leeds. The scenery is guaranteed to be breathtaking and everyone who takes part in this event will receive a free YouCan t-shirt and a commemorative medal.
Full details on how to book can be found on the You-Can website www.you-can.org.uk/youcan-run. If you are aiming to take part in the 10km route, please arrive at Leeds Castle by 8.30am to register – 10km run starts at 9am and the 5km run starts at 9.30am. Entry is £15 for adults and £10 for children.
YouCan Youth Cancer Support offers support to young people in London and the South East aged between 10 and 30, whose lives have been impacted by cancer. Having cancer at a young age can be a lonely and isolating experience and the most important part of YouCan’s work is to bring young people together to share their experience with others who really understand.
