Scouts appoint two new Directors to Senior Leadership Team

THE Scouts have appointed Chloe Kembery as Director of Communications and Marketing and Kris Murali as Director of Finance and Resources so support the organisation in developing skills for life for young people

Chloe Kembery is joining the Scouts after three years at the British Council where she currently leads communications overseeing campaigns in education and culture including the global partnership with the BBC World Service. Previously she led award-winning teams at the Natural History Museum, Kew Gardens and the European Science Foundation. At the museum, she created the campaign that unveiled its new whale Hope in its central hall and sent its Diplodocus on a UK tour to inspire the next generation.

Chloe Kembery said:

“From outdoors adventures through to the recent Hike to the Moon, Scouts has an outstanding reputation for inspiring young people to try new things and build skills for life. It is a privilege to be joining such a passionate team of volunteers and colleagues. Heading into this role I look forward to working with them on new ways to share the Scout story and growing the Movement so that any child who wants to Scout can have that chance.”

Until recently Kris Murali was Deputy CEO of disability charity, Sense, and comes with a highly distinguished career having led finance and wider corporate services functions, working in a number of sectors. At Sense, Kris managed the corporate support services including governance and also the trading portfolio of 115 Charity shops and oversaw Sense International operating in eight countries.

Kris Murali said:

“I am delighted to join the team at Scouts and be part of the great work that Scouts do, working with youth across all communities. I have always been fascinated by the history, the reach and the difference Scouts make, laying the foundation to raise responsible citizens. It is humbling to be part of that journey.”

Announcing the new appointments Matt Hyde, Chief Executive, The Scouts said:

“I am delighted to announce that we have appointed Kris Murali as Director of Finance and Resources and Chloe Kembery as Director of Communications and Marketing. We are delighted to have secured two fantastically talented individuals and I know everyone will welcome them both to the Scouts.”
