Rob Music appointed chief executive of The Migraine Trust

The Migraine Trust has announced that Rob Music has been appointed its new chief executive. He joins the charity from Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, where he has been chief executive for twelve years. He takes over the leadership of The Migraine Trust as ground-breaking new treatments for migraine are becoming available in the UK, but as the migraine community is struggling with the impact of Covid-19.

At Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, Rob oversaw a sustained period of growth and development, including income, staffing, setting up new support services, developing an award-winning health information and awareness campaigns and building key relationships with funders, the media, health professionals and policy influencers. Before that role, Rob was chief executive of Endometriosis UK and worked for The Stroke Association and Research into Ageing.

Welcoming him to The Migraine Trust, its chair Michelle Walder said:

“I am delighted to welcome Rob to the charity. It is an important time for the migraine community with many positive developments in treatment.

“People with migraine still face many challenges in living with a painful and debilitating but invisible condition. The Migraine Trust is working to change this, and Rob’s experience of leading organisations that have helped people with serious health conditions means that he will know how to lead this change.”

Speaking about his appointment, Rob said:

“I am honoured to have been chosen as chief executive of The Migraine Trust. Over ten million people in the UK are affected by a migraine which impacts many aspects of their lives. The scale of the challenge is huge.

“The Migraine Trust has been doing fantastic work in meeting this challenge through its support services, campaigns, work to get new effective migraine treatments approved, research, and leadership of the migraine community in the UK. I am committed to taking up that leadership so that there are greater awareness and understanding of migraine as well as better access to treatment and support.”

The Migraine Trust works to help people affected by migraine. It is the only UK migraine charity providing information and support, campaigning for awareness and change, and funding and promoting research. The Migraine Trust has been leading and bringing the migraine community together to change this since 1965.
