TODAY, a new national TV advert has been released by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and is fronted by an RNLI lifesaver.
Holly, 39, who is a volunteer crew member for the RNLI at Chiswick, is the face of the new RNLI advert, which will air on digital TV channels from today. The new commercial is appealing for supporters to sign up and donate after what has been a very difficult 12 months for the lifesaving charity.
The advert features dramatic, real-life rescue footage and shows the impact of RNLI lifesavers as loved ones are saved and emotionally reunited with family and friends.
On-screen, Holly said:
“When the pager goes off, I don’t know who will need rescuing, it could be someone you love, and when we get that call, we’ll answer it.”
Last year, RNLI lifeboats launched 8,239 times, assisting 8,374 people saving 239 lives. RNLI lifeguards were just as busy on the beaches keeping people safe, aiding 25,172 people saving 110 lives.
After a year like no other, and with the RNLI expecting one of their busiest summers ever, Holly is appealing to supporters to donate just £3 a month, or whatever they can. By donating, RNLI lifesavers like Holly will be able to get the right training and be provided with the best kit when they head out in all weathers to save others 24/7.
