HAVE you heard about Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice’s Rudolph Run? As the holiday season approaches, they will once again be inviting local schools and nurseries to join in with this festive fun event.
The Rudolph Run is a fun activity, especially for school and nursery-age children. The school, nursery or playgroup chooses a date to carry out their Rudolph Run, and the hospice provides festive reindeer antlers and red noses for every participating child.
Children can walk around the playground, run laps during PE lessons, or even be encouraged to walk to school on a designated day. The focus is on having fun, being active and helping to raise funds to support the local charity.
Every contribution can make a difference in the lives of the patients that the hospice cares for. The minimum sponsorship is £1 per child.
Alison Farrell, the Family Liaison and Community Lead from St Olave’s who took part in our first Rudolph Run in 2022 said:
“The hospice delivered a wonderful assembly which helped us all to learn about their work and who they look after before our event. On the day of our Rudolph Run, it snowed heavily, so we adapted our plans and completed our Rudolph Run in our school allotment in the snow, which added to the excitement.”
“We all had great fun, and at the same time, we raised over £1,000. The children loved wearing their antlers and noses and were delighted that they got to keep them.”
Registering for the Rudolph Run is easy and encourages a sense of community spirit during the holiday season. Interested schools and nurseries can sign up by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 020 8319 9230.
