RAYS of Sunshine has announced the news that following a period as Interim CEO, Cheryl Tissot will continue on as the charity’s permanent CEO.

Rays of Sunshine brightens the lives of seriously ill children aged three to 18 across the UK by granting their wishes and providing ongoing support within hospitals.

Cheryl has been a valued member of the charity’s senior management team since joining in 2021. She stepped into the role of Interim CEO in November 2022 and brings with her a wealth of experience working within the charity sector.

Cheryl Tissot said:

“I’m very excited and honoured to be leading Rays of Sunshine during such an exciting and transformative period. We had a hugely successful 2022, and have started the new year strong, with much more to come.

“I want to thank our board, trustees, supporters, donors and the fabulous team at Rays of Sunshine for their support. I’m grateful to have such a wonderful team working with me, and I look forward to supporting them to deliver even more magical wishes and events for seriously ill children across the UK in the future.”

Cheryl is the former Chief Executive of the national volunteering charity Pets as Therapy. Prior to joining the charity sector, Cheryl built up a wealth of operational experience within many global corporations such as Microsoft, Invesco Asset Management and Gilead Sciences.

Stephen Allan, Chair of Rays of Sunshine, said:

“In the last three months, Cheryl has more than proved her dedication to our wonderful charity, and her ability to lead it with warmth and confidence.

“This is an incredibly exciting time to be a part of the Rays of Sunshine team, and I know Cheryl has great plans for the months and years ahead. On behalf of all the charity’s staff, trustees and executive board, we thank Cheryl for accepting the role, and look forward to seeing her flourish in it.”
