HUMANIMAL Trust, the charity founded in 2014 by orthopaedic veterinary surgeon, Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, has donated children’s books to Rachel House in Kinross.
Dr Mary Fraser, Vice-Chair of Trustees at Humanimal Trust, visited the children’s hospice to present copies of the book Humanimal to Elsa Sinclair, a Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) Ambassador.
Mary said:
“Humanimal Trust’s recent Christmas campaign, Books for Christmas, saw supporters donating the cost of a book to enable us to distribute copies to children’s hospitals and hospices across the UK. We know CHAS does incredible work with babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions, and we hope these books will help to bring a smile to their faces.”
Authored by Christopher Lloyd and illustrated by Mark Ruffle, Humanimal takes young readers aged seven to 12 on a journey of discovery and appreciation of all the ways animals are just like humans.

“Not only does Humanimal inspire and entertain through its fascinating stories – like the one about bottlenose dolphins wearing sea sponges over their beaks to protect them from sharp coral and rocks – it also contributes to Humanimal Trust’s mission of fostering a deeper understanding of the intrinsic links between all species.”
Humanimal Trust drives collaboration between vets, doctors and researchers so that all humans and animals benefit from sustainable and equal medical progress, but not at the expense of an animal’s life. This is One Medicine.
