Principle Trust marks 15 years of changing young lives

To mark International Day of Charity on 5th September, The Principle Trust Children’s Charity is celebrating its community who have helped create life-changing memories for children facing adversity across Yorkshire. The day aims to bring people together to support causes in their communities, a message which closely reflects the charity’s own values.

Established in 2011 by Mike Davies MBE, The Principle Trust provides respite breaks for children facing challenges including mental health difficulties, trauma, abuse, poverty, serious illness and disabilities. With around one in 10 children in England now having an active referral to mental health services, providing vulnerable children and their families with opportunities to spend quality time together is more important than ever.

Made possible through the generosity of its supporters, over the past 15 years The Principle Trust has supported more than 6,300 children facing life’s toughest challenges and raised an incredible £2.3 million to help continue its work.

Mike Davies MBE, Founder of The Principle Trust Children’s Charity, said:

“We have such a strong community around us and their support has been instrumental in helping us grow and deliver our mission over the past 15 years. Every act of support, no matter how big or small, helps us make a real difference.

“Our 15th anniversary is a celebration not just of what The Principle Trust has achieved, but of every person, business and organisation that has stood behind us. What we have learnt since starting is that to make lasting memories it really does take a community and we are incredibly grateful for everyone who has helped make that possible.”

This International Day of Charity, The Principle Trust is inviting more individuals and businesses across Yorkshire to become part of its community and help create precious memories for children facing adversity. Whether through becoming a Patron, choosing the charity as a Charity of the Year partner, taking on a fundraising challenge, volunteering or making a donation, every act of support can make a difference.
