OXFORDSHIRE Crossroads is celebrating 40 years of supporting unpaid carers and individuals who need care across the county.
Carers’ charity Oxfordshire Crossroads recently celebrated its 40th anniversary of providing care and support services to individuals across Oxfordshire. Founded in 1982 by Mary Rainford, the charity originally operated out of a church hut in Cowley. Now, based in Headington, they are one of the leading providers of home care services in the county.
The charity operates across Oxfordshire, West Berkshire and in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead to offer care services including adult care, live-in care and children’s care.
As well as offering a range of professional care services, Oxfordshire Crossroads supports unpaid carers of all ages. It offers fully funded respite breaks to enable unpaid carers to enjoy a day out or a short trip away to give them a break for their mental and physical health. Past experiences offered by the charity have included visits to Cotswold Wildlife Park and tickets to Oxford United football matches.
Lizzy Clarkson, Deputy CEO of Oxfordshire Crossroads said:

We understand how difficult it can be both emotionally and physically to care for a loved one so we aim to work closely with all our clients and their families to provide support in whatever way they may need.”
Oxfordshire Crossroads is currently recruiting care workers to support the work it is doing in Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties. Ms Clarkson explained that no specific skills are required.

“There is a national shortage of care workers around the country. Recruiting care workers is a constant challenge and the competition is fierce.
“We are always seeking kind and compassionate individuals with great people skills to join the Oxfordshire Crossroads team. Our caring positions are open to all. We provide complete training and offer both full and part-time positions with flexible hours to work around you.”
