John Taylor Hospice is holding an open evening for people interested in becoming volunteers.
The event at the hospice in Erdington on 19 September will give people the chance to meet current volunteers, discover the different options available and chat with the various teams.
Head of Volunteering Mark Jones said:
“We are frequently asked about volunteering opportunities and this evening will give people the chance to find out all they would like to know in one place.
“Our volunteers are an essential part of our team. Helping in the hospice, in shops, in fundraising and with services like driving and wellbeing, they make an enormous contribution to our hospice.
“People volunteer for a range of different reasons – to meet new people, to get out of the house, to build new skills and to give something back. And they enjoy it – in our most recent survey of our volunteers 100% said they would recommend volunteering at John Taylor Hospice.
“Now we are looking forward to meeting lots of new potential volunteers at our open evening – and to welcoming them to the hospice.”
The Volunteer Open Evening takes place at John Taylor Hospice, 76 Grange Road, Erdington B24 0DF on Thursday 19 September and is a drop-in between 6-8pm. All are welcome and places don’t need to be booked.
