New trustees wanted for leading sight loss charity

THOMAS Pocklington Trust (TPT) has just announced it is looking to recruit two new trustees to join its board.

This leading national charity aims to increase awareness and understanding of the needs and aspirations of blind and partially sighted people with a focus on improving opportunities for engagement, education and employment.

Mervyn Williamson, TPT’s Chair of Trustees, said:

“We are particularly looking to recruit two trustees who have experience in communications and service delivery to join us on the board.

“Our trustees provide governance and leadership and we work as a team to look after everything the charity does.

“Becoming a trustee, whether for TPT or another charity, is a great way to share your skills, experience and time with an organisation that is making a real difference in people’s lives. It’s also an opportunity to develop your own leadership skills and create new connections.

“An understanding of the not-for-profit sector lived experience of sight loss and previous board experience is beneficial but not essential.”

The deadline for applications is Tuesday 31 May. Prospective candidates can find out more and apply by visiting their website.
