DISABILITY charity CPotential has formed an exciting joint venture with Mind in Haringey to offer counselling support to families living with disabled children.
CPotential in Muswell Hill is a unique one-stop-shop providing a range of expert-led integrated rehabilitation services for children and young people with movement disorders due to conditions such as cerebral palsy, global developmental delay and acquired brain injury.
Having a child with a disability comes with a multitude of challenges, hurdles, and barriers, so to fully optimise the whole family’s wellbeing, the charity has reached out to build partnerships with specialists in mental health and well-being, educational guidance, legal advice, and funding support.
The Counselling Service at Mind in Haringey works with individuals to support the challenges and obstacles that they are facing. For parents and carers of children with disabilities, counselling can help to explore, engage with, and soothe an array of emotions arising from pressures of their role in the family unit.
Mind in Haringey has a variety of counsellors who work across a range of modalities to suit any clients they work with. They take time and care to match clients to the most suitable counsellor possible, based on the referral outcome and subsequent assessment appointment.
Brett Parker, CEO at CPotential, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to be working in partnership with Mind in Haringey. Both our organisations are focused on taking every opportunity to support our communities. Our strategic vision is to develop and embed holistic, integrated therapies and partnerships strengthen this with professional, ethos driven organisations such as Mind in Haringey.”
