RICHARD Bowyer will be the new chief executive of Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity.
Richard will take over the running of the Charity from Monday 10 May, following the retirement of the current chief executive, Gill Raikes.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity at a time when the NHS has never been more needed, and the support of its charities has never been more vital. Under Gill’s leadership, the team have built a thriving charity, and I am looking forward to working with them on the next stage of their journey.”
Richard was previously Director of Marketing and Public Fundraising at Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, with responsibilities incorporating digital engagement, individual giving, community fundraising and innovation. Before that, he was Head of Global Brand Strategy for BT plc, where he developed a marketing strategy for BT’s London 2012 sponsorship.
Outgoing Chief Executive Gill Raikes said:
“I am very pleased that Richard will be taking over the running of the charity. He has many years of experience in fundraising, research, brand and marketing, which will help the charity go further in supporting our patients and staff at both our hospitals.”
Richard Hunting, Chairman of Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity, said:
“We are very pleased to welcome Richard to Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity. Richard is taking over at a crucial time, where NHS charities are needed more than ever to support our hard-working NHS staff in the fight against COVID-19. I’m sure Richard will be a huge help in raising funds via property, investments and fundraising for our hospitals at this challenging time.”
Richard joins the charity as we continue to roll out our COVID-19 Relief Fund, which aims to buy equipment for and support the welfare of patients and staff at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
