NOMINATIONS for the National Charity Today Awards™ 2026 will now remain open until Wednesday 26 August 2026, giving charities, volunteers, fundraisers and sector partners additional time to submit their entries.
The extension follows several requests from potential entrants who require more time to complete their nominations. With annual leave and summer holiday arrangements causing delays for many organisations, the Awards team wants to ensure that deserving people, charities and projects are not prevented from being considered.
The decision also recognises that some charities and individuals may only recently have discovered the National Charity Today Awards™ and need a reasonable opportunity to prepare their nominations.
The National Charity Today Awards™ celebrate the remarkable work taking place throughout the UK charity and voluntary sector. The Awards recognise charities of every size, alongside the volunteers, fundraisers, partnerships and professionals whose commitment creates lasting change within communities.
Extending the nomination period will allow entrants to gather the information needed to present their work effectively, secure any required internal approval and ensure that each nomination gives the judges an accurate account of the impact achieved.
Lee B. Rayment, Founder of the National Charity Today Awards™, said the decision had required careful consideration.
He said:
“Part of me felt that the deadline had passed and that we needed to remain firm. However, another part of me understood that many charities and individuals may only now be finding out about the National Charity Today Awards™ for the first time.
“We have also heard from people who have experienced delays because colleagues are away on annual leave. We do not want an outstanding charity, volunteer, fundraiser or partnership to miss the opportunity to be considered because a key person was unavailable or because they became aware of the Awards shortly before the deadline.
“This is a short and final extension until Wednesday 26 August. It gives people a fair opportunity to complete a strong nomination while maintaining a clear deadline for everyone.
“If you know an individual or organisation whose contribution deserves national recognition, I strongly encourage you to put their name forward.”
The extension applies to nominations across the National Charity Today Awards™ categories. Entrants are encouraged not to leave their submissions until the final day and to provide clear examples of achievement, impact and the difference made to beneficiaries or communities.
Individuals may nominate an eligible charity, volunteer, fundraiser, partnership or sector professional. Charities and organisations can also submit nominations highlighting their own work and achievements.
The final deadline for nominations is Wednesday 26 August 2026.
