There was plenty of time to say ‘Hello, goodbye’ at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party last week – when the Princess Alice Hospice shop in East Molesey was transformed into a Wonderland – an eccentric tearoom complete with teapots, colourful crockery, tempting arrays of cakes – and a host of colourful characters.

The staff dressed up as the main characters from the Lewis Carroll story, welcoming customers into the magical scene.

Three enthusiastic volunteers from a local bank collected donations and sold delicious cakes which had been freshly baked and donated for the occasion. Fundraising events at the banks – including a number of quiz evenings – brought in a further £1,500 for the Hospice.
