ONE of the world’s leading orchestras has chosen iplicit’s award-winning accounting software to transform the work of its finance department.
Registered charity the London Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO) was impressed by iplicit’s reputation in the nonprofit and arts sectors.
Founded by Sir Thomas Beacham in 1932, the LPO is based at London’s Royal Festival Hall, with other resident venues in Brighton, Eastbourne and Saffron Walden.
The orchestra is widely heard around the world thanks to its work in TV, radio and video games, as well as film soundtracks including The Lord of the Rings.
Through its own LPO recording label, it has more than 120 recordings available to download or buy and is one of the most streamed orchestras in the world, with 15 million plays of its music each month.
The LPO’s Finance Director, Frances Slack, said:
“We chose iplicit as the right platform for a modernised finance system after examining its strong reputation among arts organisations and nonprofits.
“During the Covid lockdowns, we adapted our paper-based accounting processes to make them email-based. However, these processes were still very cumbersome, particularly for common tasks such as approvals, purchase invoices, sales invoices and expenses processing.
“iplicit offered a system that would drastically simplify those tasks. It also provides a native accounts payable automation capability, rather than requiring a third-party application.
“The new system will also allow users from outside the finance team to access data and reports themselves, without having to wait for finance to produce the information for them.
“iplicit’s cloud-based system will replace our previous on-premises product, opening up new options for us as our overall IT strategy develops.”
The LPO joins a host of other prestigious arts organisations in adopting iplicit, including the Edinburgh International Festival, Scottish Ballet, National Theatre of Scotland and another world-renowned orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
