Learnmore helps under-8s girls team kick off in style with brand-new kit

A Norfolk girls football team has kicked off its first season with a brand-new kit thanks to sponsorship from training provider Learnmore.

To mark the team’s first season in the under-8s league, Learnmore supplied Attleborough Town Football Club under-8s girls with a complete playing kit.

The sponsorship followed a request from Learnmore’s client engagement manager, Gemma Edwards, who coaches the team and whose eight-year-old daughter, Florence, also plays.

Gemma Edwards said:

“The team is delighted to have received sponsorship from Learnmore. Previously, the girls trained in their own clothes, so to have a proper football kit as we embarked on our first league matches was really special.

“I’ve coached football for many years, even in America while I was at university, so it’s been great to see the girls progress and grow in confidence and resilience. Seeing their confidence improve is something I truly love.

“Girls’ football has certainly become more popular over the last few years, with the Lionesses proving an inspiration for many young girls. When I was at primary school, my dad had to persuade the headteacher to let me play in the boys’ team, so it’s great that girls’ teams are growing in popularity now.

“We currently have eight players ranging from six to eight years old, and we are set to grow next season by entering two teams into the league, which is really exciting.”

Learnmore commercial director Faith Mills added:

“At Learnmore, we believe that giving back to our communities is just as important as the work we do every day. When we heard that Gemma’s team was looking for support, we knew we had to support them.

“Seeing young girls develop their confidence, resilience and teamwork skills through sport is incredibly important. We hope that by providing the team with a proper kit, we’ve played a small part in helping them feel proud as they compete in their first league matches.”
