THE National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), the membership body for the voluntary sector in England, has today announced the appointment of Kate Lee OBE as its new Chief Executive.
Lee, previously CEO at Alzheimer’s Society, joins NCVO at a crucial moment for the voluntary sector, bringing extensive leadership experience and a strong track record of championing charities, community groups, and volunteers.
Recognised with an OBE in 2024 for her outstanding services to the voluntary sector, Lee will lead the organisation through a major strategic review, designed to define its role in supporting and representing the voluntary sector over the next decade.

Lee will take up the role in the autumn, with Saskia Konynenburg continuing as interim CEO until then.
Following the successful recruitment of a new CEO, NCVO will begin its search for a new Chair Designate this Autumn. David Fielding, Managing Partner of Attenti, who led the recruitment programme for the new CEO, will support NCVO’s Board to identify candidates as its current Chair, Dr Priya Singh’s second and final term will end in 2026.
