Laura Clarke OBE joins environmental law charity ClientEarth as CEO

LEADING environmental organisation ClientEarth today welcomes Laura Clarke OBE as its new Chief Executive. Laura takes over from founding CEO James Thornton, who is moving into the non-exec role of President and Founder. 

Before joining ClientEarth, Laura was the British High Commissioner to New Zealand and spent 20 years in Government and diplomatic roles across Africa, Asia and Europe, working extensively on climate, environmental and sustainability issues.

Over the past decade and a half, ClientEarth has achieved numerous legal victories, all designed to bring about systemic change that protects all life on Earth. The organisation is now expanding its impact globally. The deep understanding of global policy issues and international relations that Laura brings, combined with her extensive senior leadership and partnership-building experience, will be critical in the years ahead for climate action.  

Commenting on her new role, Laura said:

It’s a privilege to be working with such a talented and committed team, and I’m excited about what we can achieve together as we work to protect both people and the planet.”
