The Internet Watch Foundation’s CEO, Susie Hargreaves OBE, has made it to the top four finalists in the prestigious European CEO Awards.

European CEO is a leading subscription-based print and online publication, delivered bi-annually to c-suite executives in 28 countries throughout Europe.

James Watson, Awards Manager at European CEO, said: “We are delighted to announce that Ms Susie Hargreaves, CEO of the Internet Watch Foundation, has been nominated for this award and due to the number of votes Ms Hargreaves has received from her peer group across Europe, has made it through to the top four candidates shortlisting for Western Europe in the category of Internet Security.

“We at European CEO are extremely impressed with the excellent work that Ms Hargreaves and her foundation do. That she has been officially acknowledged and recognised by her fellow CEOs, and the fact that Ms Susie Hargreaves has gone from one of 13 initial candidates, to now one of the elite top four, confirms not only the stature to which she is held, but also that Ms Susie Hargreaves has without doubt those exceptional qualities of leadership, vision, character, and the ability to get the job done.

“We here at European CEO feel strongly that these awards recognise those special traits that make successful CEOs so inspiring, and European CEO knows that Ms Susie Hargreaves exemplifies those special traits and qualities of only the most successful of CEOs, such as tenacity, drive, an ability to inspire her staff and team and make decisions, and Ms Susie Hargreaves has shown time after time the key ability to drive the process or idea to a successful conclusion.”

Susie Hargreaves OBE told Charity Today that she is ‘honoured’ to have been chosen and paid tribute to the staff at the IWF.

Susie Hargreaves OBE, IWF CEO, said: “I’m honoured to have been chosen as a finalist for the European CEO Awards. I am truly passionate about leading the IWF and making it the most successful Hotline in the world at removing and disrupting child sexual abuse imagery online. The work we do at IWF has a real and positive impact on the lives of survivors of child sexual abuse and all users of the internet.

“In the last six years we have increased our turnover fourfold, built an international membership base and developed our operation across the world, providing not only technical services to internet companies, but also a safe place to report online child sexual abuse in 22 locations.

“I’d like to pay tribute to the staff at the IWF and especially our incredible Analysts, as it is due to their hard work that the IWF is where it is today.”
