Hospital’s charity calls on cyclists for 2020 challenge

Bristol hospital’s charity Above & Beyond is calling on cyclists to gear up for their 2020 charity challenge.

The charity’s flagship event, the annual Bristol to Paris Cycle Challenge, is back this September.

Over the last five years, 336 intrepid cyclists have taken on the challenge, cycling a total of 146,000 kilometres and raising the incredible sum of £746,000 for Bristol’s hospitals.

This year’s event is taking place from 9-13 September, with the four days of cycling ending with a triumphant arrival at the Eiffel Tower in Paris on Saturday 12 September.

The challenge is open to anyone and all cycling abilities. People can sign up as an individual or as part of a team.

Karlie Evans, Above & Beyond community and events fundraising officer, said:

“This a fantastic event that everyone can take part in. It really bonds people together and you will make friends for life.

“We have organised training rides to help you get up to speed and our fundraising team will be on hand to help you smash the target.

“It’s a hugely popular event and places are limited so sign up now to avoid disappointment.”

Registration for the challenge is £150 with a fundraising target of £2,000. The money raised will go to Bristol’s hospitals, where it will be used in the area of greatest need.

All accommodation, food and return travel to Bristol are included on the trip.
