A North West charity is looking for trustees to join its Board and share their life experience and professional knowledge to help people who are homeless or living on the verge of homelessness.
Stepping Stone Projects is looking for two new trustees to invest two hours per month to support the charity’s work transforming the lives of people facing life on the streets.
Stepping Stone Projects offer help, hope and housing to some of the region’s most vulnerable people. The charity provides accommodation and vital support services such as help with budgeting, finding work or training and sustaining tenancies to help keep people away from the streets.
Everyone deserves a safe, happy and comfortable home – but not everyone has access to it. With the new trustees, who will be replacing two long-standing board members, they can continue to make that right.
The charity is particularly hoping to hear from candidates from a wide range of backgrounds and upbringings as they continually seek to improve their services with diversity in culture and perspective.
Currently the Board meets on Wednesday evenings every six weeks (either virtually or at a local Rochdale venue), a quarterly sub-committee and has up to two Trustee Away Days each year.
Dave Smith, Chief Executive of Stepping Stone Projects said:
“Homelessness is a huge issue facing our region. We’re looking for individuals who will bring new creative and strategic ideas to help us tackle the challenges in our region.”
Trustees will serve for an initial term of three years on a voluntary basis.
If you have integrity, sound judgement, a creative mind and are willing to be challenged, you could help us address homelessness and other complex needs in our area.
The charity needs your wisdom, your advice, and your support. Stepping Stone Projects is looking for individuals with experience in the following areas:
- Housing management or housing support
- ICT and digital expertise
- Legal knowledge
