Heartbeat raises more than £25,000 from Summer Black Tie event

THE 2023 Heartbeat Black Tie Summer Party, with 200 guests in attendance, raised an outstanding £25,736.  The Concorde Club provided the venue, and the lovely 3-course meal with wine was first class, as was the service.

Adger Brown greeted guests as compere and close up Magician Colin Phillips was on hand to entertain with his mind-blowing talent. There was an auction with items such as a day’s sailing on the Solent, donated by Bill Blain. Ennio’s lunch with wine from the Mustang Group. A wonderful beauty hamper from SB Selected Beauty Ltd. Curtis Stigers Live Show, Dinner Bed and Breakfast package donated by the Concorde Club. Two VIP Box Show packages for ‘Musicals from the Heart’ Heartbeats 30th Anniversary Celebration show at the Mayflower on the 17th of September.

Guest were invited to raise money by a pledge promise to support a working day for Becky Cutler, Heartbeat’s Psychological Support Cardiac Youth Worker. The role costs £26,000 a year and the pledges will keep this role funded. Harry Shields, congenital heart patient and Heartbeats Guernsey Ambassador spoke, along with Becky passionately, about how this will make a huge difference psychologically to help cardiac patients aged 11-25 years.

The evening ended with a great show from ‘Princes of Motown’ who wowed everyone with all the greatest hits from the Motown era.

CEO Mark Ind also mentioned the 3D pioneering project and we had many donations to support the campaign, where the creation of the heart can enable the cardiac team to look closer at the heart and any imperfections before the surgery is carried out. We were delighted at the response to our unique and life-changing projects.

Tina Tolley, Donor Development Manager said:

“The evening was a huge success, and we cannot thank everyone enough for their generosity on the night. We appreciate every penny is precious these days, and we are eternally grateful for the response to our cause and in turn raising such a phenomenal sum.”
