Fundraisers urged to make the world better with a sweater during UK Charity Week

THE Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity are challenging fundraisers to celebrate the festive season in style by wearing their silliest sweaters for Christmas Jumper Day during UK Charity Week (6-10 December).

Whether you are at home, school or at work on Friday 10 December, the charity is encouraging everyone to swap their school uniforms, work suits or stay-at-home joggers for their glitziest jumpers, reindeer antlers, funky socks or seasonal fancy dress – anything goes!

The funds raised will enable the charity to fund the refurbishment of the Children’s Ward outdoor play area into a comforting and playful space for children and young people.

Michael Wright, Deputy Chief Executive at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, said:

“Wearing your jazziest jumpers or Christmassy fancy dress on 10 December is a simple but fun way to raise funds for your local NHS charity this Christmas. Wherever you are, we’d like you to showcase your stylish sweaters and inspire your school friends, colleagues, neighbours and family to do the same.

“We hope that everyone will have a great time taking part in Christmas Jumper Day and that we can turn your pullovers into pounds to fund the revamp of our rooftop play area. We know that visiting or staying in hospital can be a worrying time for children, young people and their families so an outdoor space providing respite from the busy ward area is very much needed.”

It costs just £2 to participate in the charity’s Christmas Jumper Day and donations can be made quickly and easily via Visufund –

There will be prizes for the best-dressed individual and team, so don’t forget to send us your Christmas Jumper Day pictures to
