fundr is the first mobile app that allows corporate fundraisers to search, review and create a targeted prospect list from a continually updated database of over 500 opportunities in the UK on their smartphone.
Built by Tom McKenzie, a corporate fundraiser with experience of several domestic and international charities, and his brother Adam, a software developer, fundr allows users to search a dynamic prospect database, filter for relevant partnerships, create a pipeline and provides the contact details needed for outreach. Following a successful soft launch on Android in early 2019 to positive feedback, the app was launched on iOS for Apple in September.
According to the creators, one of fundr’s key aims is to reduce time wasted when prospecting for new corporate partners due to lack of relevant information. The app is also expected to be particularly useful for smaller charities who are unable to compete against some of the larger, household name charities who have dedicated research personnel.
Tom McKenzie, fundr said:
“I’ve often wondered why a simple, modern resource for corporate fundraisers, providing the information needed to make educated prospecting decisions, didn’t exist. The options that I’ve come across either quickly become dated or are extremely expensive and aimed at the charity. fundr has been created specifically for fundraisers and my hope is that it becomes a vital extra tool that supports them to focus their efforts and find their ideal charity partner.”
Tom and Adam, who have developed fundr as a passion project alongside their full-time roles, are also encouraging users to let them know about opportunities not on the app at launch so that the database can become as helpful as possible for fundraisers across the sector. Future features planned for fundr include push notifications and eventually enabling companies to promote their partnership opportunity and selection process to users.
