Film premiere of Charity Bike Ride to air this week

30 cyclists took part in the Challenging 550km ride from Mecca to Median to Support Children Suffering from Congenital Heart Defects.

Earlier this year, 30 cyclists from the United Kingdom took part in the three-day long cycling marathon from Mecca to Medina, supporting children suffering from congenital heart defects in Africa.

The film premiere of the amazing ride will take place on the 6th of September at the Genesis Cinema on Mile Road. Tickets are now available to watch the documentary film showcasing how these brave cyclists completed this epic journey.

Film premiere of Charity Bike Ride to air this weekThe campaign raised vital funds for Muntada Aid’s flagship project Little Hearts and increased awareness of children suffering from Congenital Heart Defects in Africa. The East London-based cycling club have raised thousands for the charity and helped kids in many countries across Africa.

The cyclist rode for three days and endured some of the most challenging desert conditions, such as strong headwinds and temperatures hitting 40C. The team covered more than 550 kilometres across the tough desert roads separating these two historic cities in the West of Saudi Arabia.

Muntada Aid’s flagship project Little Hearts was launched in April 2012. The charity provides free life-saving heart surgeries to children with congenital heart defects from underprivileged backgrounds irrespective of gender, race or religion. To date, it has carried out 40 missions in 12 countries and performed over 2,500 cardiac interventions and surgeries saving thousands of lives.
