FOLLOWING the recent news that nurses and other NHS workers in England have been offered a 3% pay rise by the government, Demelza Hospice Care for Children has announced that the charity will match the award made by the NHS and increase the awards already made in April this year by a further 1% across the organisation.
This will be backdated to 1 April 2021, when Demelza initially awarded a 2% pay increase.
Lavinia Jarrett, Acting Chief Executive at Demelza, said:
“We are delighted to announce this well-deserved pay increase. Our nursing and support teams are the heartbeat of Demelza, and with compassion and expert clinical care, they give children and families the vital support they need, equipping families with the confidence and skills to manage their child’s symptoms and complex medical needs in the hospice and at home.”
Demelza Hospice Care for Children provides specialist care and emotional support for children with serious or terminal conditions and their families throughout Kent, South East London and East Sussex.
Demelza is currently recruiting, and further information can be found at: https://www.demelza.org.uk/work-with-us/care-vacancies.
