Dedicate a star to someone special this year and support your local hospitals

LEEDS Cares invites you to say thanks to those who’ve helped you in 2020 and to remember those no longer with us by dedicating a star to someone special this Christmas.

This week, the charity for Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust will launch their first-ever ‘Dedicate a Star’ campaign. By dedicating a star that will shine above a  virtual Leeds skyline your star will not only shine brightly for loved ones but will also make a huge impact, as every penny raised will help support NHS staff, patients and families across Leeds.

Sandra, Mick, Kirsty and Layla are one of the first families to dedicate a star after sadly losing their wonderful son, brother and uncle Sean in 2018 after he suffered a brainstem stroke at just 30 years old.

His mother Sandra said:

“He lit up our world with so much love and joy, he is the brightest star in our sky. Dedicating a star in memory of Sean is a wonderful way to remember him and the care he received at Leeds Teaching Hospitals.”

Paul Watkins, Director of Fundraising at Leeds Cares, said:

“We’re really excited to be launching our first ever ‘Dedicate a Star’ campaign.

Christmas is a time to remember those we love and a time to say thank you to those who are special to us. By lighting up our virtual Leeds sky you will be supporting thousands of NHS staff, patients and families and making a real difference to local people who need our support.”
