Streetspace Present Porchlight with Cheque
The team at Streetspace have just smashed their epic 874-mile static cycling challenge, raising vital funds for the local charity Porchlight!

This incredible achievement took place at Streetspace HQ during May this year and involved their staff pedalling the distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats using a combination of a static bike and a turbo trainer. 34 members of staff from both the office and factory worked in relays with a fantastic team effort, completing the 874 miles in just 3 days, beating the predicted time by 6 days!

A grand total of £2908.40 was raised by this event – 145% of the original target – with donations coming from friends and family, a company raffle, suppliers and business contacts, and several company dress-down days; raising £1453.40, which the company matched to the value of £1455.00.

All of this hard work was to raise funds for a great local charity, Porchlight. Working across Kent and the south-east, Porchlight helps vulnerable and isolated people get support with their mental health, housing, education and employment. They provide children, young people and adults with the advice, guidance and skills to live independently in the future, play an active role in their local community and fulfil their potential.

Nathan Tough, Community and Corporate Fundraising Officer at Porchlight, said:

“A huge thank you to everyone at Streetspace for raising an amazing £2908.40! The motivation amongst their team was clear to see, smashing their mileage target in around a third of the expected time. The money Streetspace raised is enough to keep a Rough Sleeper Worker on the street for almost a month, meaning that we are able to keep reaching out to the most vulnerable people in society. Thankyou Streetspace!”

Alec Sugden & Sam Coughlan on the bikes!

Well done to all of the staff involved, with a special mention to the top 3 cyclists Nic Fennell, Tom Landman and Sam Coughlan who cycled an incredible 239.54 miles between them!
