MENTAL health and dementia charity, South East London Mind, has launched tickets to ‘Mental Elf’ – an exciting 5k festive fun run in Crystal Palace Park on Sunday 1 December.
The festive event will kick off with a high-energy Mr Motivator-style warm-up led by PureGym London Borough. Then, it’s time to lace up your running shoes and hit the trail. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or a casual stroller, everyone is welcome to get ‘elfy’ in this fun-filled 5k event.
What’s more, Lewisham-born actor Cush Jumbo OBE, the official celebrity ambassador for SEL Mind, will be supporting another special guest, who has flown in on his sleigh all the way from the North Pole.
Cush explained:
“I’m excited to be joining Mental Elf to help Santa out with his festive duties…. I’m so proud to be lending my voice to an organisation that takes these [mental health and dementia] issues so seriously and discusses them with such empathy.”
Don’t be afraid to let your inner elf shine
While fancy dress isn’t mandatory, you’re encouraged to dress up in your most festive attire. The best-dressed elf (or dog) will be featured on South East London Mind’s social media, so get creative and have fun!
What to expect?
- A victory medal when you cross the finish line
- Goody bags
- Elf and Wellness stall
- Shea Naturally Neal’s Yard stall
- Face painting fun
- A visit from Santa and his little helper, Cush Jumbo OBE
Liz Pepper, Fundraising Manager, explained:
“This is a great chance to come together with your local community whilst giving back. By getting active and spending time outdoors, you’ll not only be boosting your own mental wellbeing but also raising vital funds for your local mental health and dementia services to support others.”
Adult tickets are £15 for a limited time only, under 16s come for free (must be with an adult).
All ticket holders can opt-in to win two tickets to see the sold-out West End run of Macbeth starring Cush Jumbo OBE and David Tennant.
