Clear Sky Children’s Charity: Messing about on a boat…

THE end of the academic year marked the completion of another extremely busy 12 months for Clear Sky and so we were more than delighted to be able to finally arrange our first face-to-face social gathering in 18 months with our lovely team of therapists and central office team!

This year, we decided to embrace the great outdoors and get out onto the river for some fresh air and mental relaxation. We are fortunate enough to be close to the Thames and lucky to have a choice of river activities nearby, but we decided upon a self-drive boat hire from AV Boats at Benson marina.

Clear Sky Children's Charity: Messing about on a boat…Our lovely electric launch took 10 of us upriver to Shillingford; captained expertly by Becky, our multi-talented Head of Therapeutic Services! Along the way, the team were able to unwind and chat as we gently glided along through the unspoilt Oxfordshire backdrop.

After two hours of fun and relaxation, we headed back ashore and enjoyed lunch together at the lovely Waterfront Café overlooking the Thames to perfectly finish off an afternoon with tea and cake!

Social contact and the great outdoors are so important for good mental and emotional health and we can’t recommend enough getting outdoors this Autumn to explore what is on your doorstep.

We’d like to thank all of our wonderful team of therapists, especially those who couldn’t be there on the day to join us. We are looking forward to organising our next team social event which will be at Christmas!

‘A leisure pursuit guaranteed to deliver
Leaving the banks we’ll sеt off down the river
Wherеver the current may take us, there’s plenty to see
When you’re messing about in a boat on the river, with me’

Book by Kenneth Grahame
