CharityExtra smashes fundraising target for Food Bank Aid

FAST-growing charity crowdfunding platform, CharityExtra, has smashed its fundraising target for London-based food bank provider, Food Bank Aid, after raising over £790K in just 36 hours.

A community-led registered charity dedicated to raising funds to purchase and deliver food and other essential items, Food Bank Aid operates across 33 different food banks throughout North London and Hertfordshire.

In supporting over 20,600 people per week – including 5000 children – Food Bank Aid turned to CharityExtra to help raise vital funds amidst a concerning increase in food poverty across the capital.

To help fulfil its 25% surge in demand, Food Bank Aid worked closely with the CharityExtra team to raise £400,000 through a dedicated digital fundraising campaign.

Leveraging the charity crowdfunding platform’s advanced ‘gamification’ technology, network of devoted fundraising teams and strategic marketing activity, CharityExtra were able to exceed the initial target with £792,081 raised in just 36 hours via 4,682 different donors.

Aside from providing Food Bank Aid with ample funds to put food on the table for British families, the charity can now maintain ownership of donor data to support future fundraising efforts.
