Charity seeks business donations to fund mental health services

THIS March, The Fire Fighters Charity is asking organisations and businesses across the UK to donate to support its vital mental health support services for the fire services community.

Having seen a huge increase in demand for support since the pandemic, the charity now needs to raise more income in order to keep pace.

Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager at the charity, Debbie Rushbrooke, explains:

“We never turn our back on anyone reaching out to us for support. However, our annual operating costs have risen to £12m and to make sure we can continue to help everyone who needs us, we now need support from across the business community.”

Traditionally funded through donations from individual firefighters and members of the fire services community, the cost of living crisis has had a fundamental impact on the charity’s fundraising, meaning that corporate support is now more important than ever.

Debbie said:

“We need to find new ways to raise the income we need to help the growing number of people we are supporting every day. Our Urgent Corporate Appeal this March is therefore looking to reach businesses across the UK who would like to fund the mental health and wellbeing of our fire service personnel.”

Organisations and businesses interested in donating to The Fire Fighters Charity’s Urgent Corporate Appeal can contact Debbie, find out more and donate directly at: www.firefighterscharity.org.uk/CorporateAppeal.
