LEADING youth homelessness charity Centrepoint has announced Julie Milnes as the charity’s new Director of Fundraising.
In a fundraising career spanning over 17 years, Julie has worked at a wide range of household name charities, including Teenage Cancer Trust, British Red Cross, Amnesty International and UNICEF UK.
Centrepoint’s fundraising activity has expanded and diversified in recent years to include regular giving products such as Sponsor a Room, face-to-face fundraising, and flagship events like the Ultimate Pub Quiz and Sleep Out. Following the pandemic these events have moved online, with Sleep Out’s replacement, Stay:Up, challenging participants to stay awake all night to end youth homelessness.
Julie Milnes, Centrepoint’s Director of Fundraising, said:
“I’m thrilled to be joining Centrepoint at such a crucial time. Coronavirus has been tough on everyone, but as we approach winter, young people will face far tougher conditions than most. They’re more at risk of losing their jobs and we’ve already seen an increasing number of them facing homelessness and are forced to sleep rough.
“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to work with the brilliant and talented Centrepoint team to ensure we can support young people facing homelessness now and in the future.”
