“Since starting my work with Sightsavers eight years ago, I’ve seen the massive difference they’ve made to the visually impaired in so many countries. There’s more to do and I’m happy to be involved.”

All money raised through the auction will go towards Sightsavers’ The End is in Sight appeal, which aims to eliminate the blinding disease, trachoma. Trachoma is the world’s leading infectious cause of blindness and has existed for thousands of years. Yet this agonising disease is completely preventable and elimination is now only a few years away – it’s a hugely exciting and historic time.

It costs Sightsavers just 15p to protect someone from trachoma for a year.

“I will never forget the amazing work I’ve witnessed first hand with Sightsavers in India and Sierra Leone. The value of helping people see again, as well as the treatment and prevention of visual impairment, cannot be overstated. Sightsavers’ commitment to equality for people with visual impairment and other disabilities is also very impressive.”
