Last week’s UK Charity Week 2024 proved to be an extraordinary showcase of generosity, unity, and the power of giving. Charities, organisations, and individuals from across the UK joined forces to create meaningful change, sharing compelling stories, raising crucial awareness, and supporting vital causes. This year’s campaign has been truly inspiring, with an outpouring of success stories and heartfelt messages flooding in from every corner of the nation.
Here are just some of the highlights from this incredible week.
Extraordinary Fundraising Achievements
This year’s campaign was filled with stories of phenomenal generosity. One supporter shared:
“I just wanted to thank you once again for featuring our campaign on Charity Today. We are absolutely delighted to confirm that we exceeded our target and raised £51,833 – ensuring an extra 200,000 meals for vulnerable families over Christmas.”
Elsewhere, Making a Difference Locally (MADL) donated £2,500 to five deserving charities as part of Give5Day, while a supporter shared:
“My daughter has raised £2,000 for your partner charity ShelterBox today with a bake sale for friends.”
Even smaller efforts combined to make a big impact. One charity proudly reported:
“We’ve raised £400 today at our CharityBIGBake.”

Corporate and Organisational Support
Businesses and organisations have once again shown their unwavering support for the campaign. Northern Rail introduced a 25% discount for charity workers throughout UK Charity Week, and one of our partners made an incredible pledge:
“As your partner, we’ve ring-fenced £1m of funds for grant charities to mark UK Charity Week.”
Their dedication is a shining example of how businesses can contribute meaningfully to community causes.
Celebrating Success Stories
Beyond the numbers, UK Charity Week has been a platform for sharing incredible stories. Coventry Haven Women’s Aid highlighted their crucial work supporting women and children, while Hearts Together shared uplifting stories of how their services have transformed lives.
England Golf Trust inspired their audience with photos and stories of young beneficiaries, and Blyth Star Enterprises used the week to showcase their newly built centre.
Notably, The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Charity launched their Big Give Christmas Challenge, aiming to raise £25,000 to support their essential services, and The Royal Parks used stunning imagery to remind people of their work to maintain London’s iconic green spaces.
A Week of Unity and Impact
The campaign also celebrated the volunteers and communities behind every effort. The Royal Life Saving Society UK honoured their volunteers, while Greenbank College reiterated the power of unity during their activities. Disability Advice Service and Moorfields Eye Charity creatively used graphics and reports to demonstrate their impact, while Making a Difference Locally’s £2,500 donation supported five inspiring charities.
A Message of Gratitude
UK Charity Week 2024 Founder, Lee Rayment, summed up the week’s success beautifully:
“This week has been a shining example of the incredible things that happen when we come together as a community. Thank you to every charity, supporter, and organisation for your creativity, passion, and hard work. Your efforts have not only raised funds but have inspired countless others to do the same. We hope UK Charity Week has provided you with a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness and funds for your vital causes.”
With hundreds of messages received throughout the week, this campaign has once again demonstrated the extraordinary impact that unity can achieve. As we reflect on the week’s successes, it’s clear that UK Charity Week is not just a celebration but a powerful reminder of the good we can accomplish when we work together.
