Cancer Research UK Teams up with TapSimple to accelerate cashless donations

FEEL-good fundraising platform TapSimple has announced the addition of Cancer Research UK to its portfolio of charity clients adding to the charity’s use of contactless technology to help raise funds in an increasingly cashless society.

Cancer Research UK will be able to receive digital donations from supporters, via TapSimple’s device, the Clip. The technology facilitates Contactless and Chip & Pin donations when paired with the TapSimple app, helping charities to raise more for great causes.

The announcement comes following TapSimple’s rapid growth; founded in 2018, the start-up is a proud Trusted Supplier of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations and has already worked with the likes of Macmillan, the NSPCC, Children with Cancer UK and Christian Aid. The business has signed 50 new clients since September and is paving the way for innovation in the charity sector.

The charity will be trialling the use of TapSimple’s contactless devices in selected Cancer Research UK shops, as well as with local fundraising groups and corporate partners.

At a time when the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the sector, TapSimple’s Contactless and Chip & Pin devices provide a safe and innovative way for charities to raise money. TapSimple’s sophisticated reporting dashboard can be leveraged to create campaigns, manage teams and volunteers, and track donations.

Tom Montague, co-founder at TapSimple, said:

“We are delighted to be unlocking digital donations for the incredible charity that is Cancer Research UK. It is brilliant to see the voluntary sector embracing technological innovation to make charitable giving more accessible as cashless payments are on the rise. As we navigate through this pandemic together, we are proud to be using our service to support charities.”

Simon Ledsham, Director of Fundraising (Communities & Events) at Cancer Research UK said:

“We’re pleased to be working with TapSimple and increasing our use of contactless technology, which will give our supporters the option of donating to our life-saving work in a simple and cashless way.”
