Blind Veterans UK welcome Adrian Bell as new CEO

BLIND Veterans UK has welcomed Adrian Bell as he starts as the charity’s new Chief Executive Officer.

A veteran himself, Adrian served in the Royal Navy for 30 years as a Warfare Officer with the privilege to command three warships. He finished his time as Commander of British Forces in Gibraltar.

He decided to leave the Navy in 2010 to work in the charity sector. He was Chief Executive of the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Trust and joins Blind Veterans UK from his role as the Chief Executive of the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC).

Adrian said:

“To be the Chief Executive of such a great charity is a real honour and a rare privilege but with this comes a huge and welcome responsibility to ensure the people this charity serves are best supported today and in the future.

“I would like to thank the staff, volunteers, and, most importantly, the blind veterans I’ve met so far for the very warm welcome I’ve been given. I look forward to meeting many more over the coming weeks and months.”

Blind Veterans UK supports thousands of blind veterans across the country, but the charity knows there are many thousands more who still need its support to rebuild their lives after sight loss.

If you, or someone you know, served in the Armed Forces, including National Service, and are now struggling with sight loss, then please get in touch. Call 0800 389 7979 or visit: blindveterans.org.uk/support.
