Binti International’s mission is to provide menstrual dignity to all girls, all over the world. This means facilitating access to pads, educating girls about what menstruation is and what they can expect from it, and dispelling stigma, taboos, myths and negative perceptions around menstruation.

Within the UK, 1 in 10 girls cannot afford menstrual products, resulting in them missing school, using unhygienic alternatives, such as newspaper and old socks and perpetuating the culture of shame surrounding periods.

Our work involves educating communities, including men and boys to dispel the stigma and embarrassment attached to periods. We also regularly donate products to food banks and homeless shelters. We believe that Binti is bringing a menstrual revolution. We think it is very important to normalise menstruation across the UK and ensure that everyone is aware of the poverty that exists around periods.

By getting involved in #UKCharityWeek we hope to be one step closer to achieving our vision; We want a world in which every girl has menstrual dignity. Period.
