Asthma UK have announced the appointment of Graham Kelly as their new Director of Fundraising.
Graham will join Asthma UK on Monday 24 April. He will be responsible for the overall development, direction and delivery of Asthma UK’s fundraising portfolio including: legacies, individual giving, gaming, trusts, major donors, corporates, innovation funders, sporting events and community.
Graham has over 25 years’ experience working in a variety of fundraising roles in the charity sector, and for the past 13 years he has been a member of senior leadership teams. Most recently he was Director of Fundraising at Beating Bowel Cancer, where his achievements included proudly leading the charity to become the Institute of Fundraising Charity of the Year in 2015, having doubled the charity’s gross income.
Prior to this Graham held fundraising roles at charities across the health, disability and social care sectors including: Whizz-Kidz, Age Concern, RNID and RNIB.
Kay Boycott, Chief Executive of Asthma UK, said: “Graham joins Asthma UK at a hugely exciting time, with our new strategy in the final stages of development that is set to put us on the path to increase our reach and impact. In the UK, 5.4 million people are living with asthma and this number is set to rise – which makes the need more urgent than ever for us to raise vital funds to campaign on behalf of people with asthma, provide advice and support, and continue our pioneering research as we strive to stop asthma attacks and ultimately cure asthma. As Director of Fundraising Graham will play a significant role in making this happen.
“I am delighted to welcome Graham to Asthma UK and believe his breadth of experience, including his delivery of stretching fundraising targets, strategic approach to change and grasp of technology and digital will help us take our fundraising to the next level. Graham has already outlined great ideas and new opportunities for Asthma UK and we look forward to seeing these realised.”
Graham Kelly, incoming Director of Fundraising at Asthma UK, said: “I am really pleased to be joining Asthma UK as Director of Fundraising and believe there is real potential at the charity to build on the great work already being developed.
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to work with the Asthma UK team to take fundraising forward for such a vital cause.”
