Anthony Nolan runners rewarded with ‘Hugs from Henny’

Every year Henny Braund, Chief Executive of blood cancer charity Anthony Nolan, attends Anthony Nolan’s post-London Marathon party to greet each supporter, plus their family and friends. ‘Hugs from Henny’ has become a unique part of the charity’s day with many runners telling her they were looking forward to it!

Over the course of the day, Henny dispensed 106 hugs, one per Anthony Nolan runner plus countless high fives with friends and family.

Henny Braund, Chief Executive of Anthony Nolan said:

“We are privileged to be able to get to know, and support, each runner in the lead up to the big day. To hear how training is going and why our supporters have been inspired to run for Anthony Nolan is one of the things that makes #TeamAN a family I’m proud to be part of.

“Hugs are a small thank you from me. With every step taken as our wonderful runners have trained, and conquered the course, and every penny raised they have provided hope to families affected by blood cancer. Without them there is no cure – and a hug is the least I can do.”

Team Anthony Nolan is on track to raise £563,000, from 175 supporters who took on this year’s London Marathon, which will help the charity continue to match potential stem cell donors to blood cancer patients in need of lifesaving stem cell transplants.
