CHARITY TODAY AWARDS

An update from The MCKS Charitable Foundation UK as they begin another round of donations to UK registered charities

In this time of need, the MCKS Charitable Foundation UK has been in contact with partner charities and has already made several emergency donations.

The charity will be sharing news of the £100,000 donations over the coming weeks to support those in need so please keep a lookout on their social media @MCKSCFUK to see who the beneficiaries are.

Here are just a few of the recent donations:

Cranbourne Primary School

They were pleased to recently deliver a successful ‘social distancing’ £10,000 cheque presentation to Cranbourne Primary PTA to go towards their sensory, nurture room project at Cranbourne Primary school.

Due to Social Distancing measures in place, the cheque was placed on a remote control Lamborghini and whizzed across the playground to Mrs Jenkins the Headteacher for her to receive.

When the MCKS Charitable Foundation UK was approached by the School PTA for a donation to fund their sensory, nurture designated room it resonated with the charity’s aims as the issues with mental wellbeing are well documented and can and do affect children.

The charity is delighted to fund a room that combines a range of stimuli to help individuals develop and engage their senses in a safe environment to build up their confidence and their ability to interact with the world around them and will go a long way to help them become well-balanced adults.

Mrs Jenkins said:

“We are hugely grateful to the Foundation for supporting the school so that we can provide this fabulous, relaxing space for the children.”

New Beginnings Reading

MCKS donated a further £10,000 to New Beginnings Reading, taking the total donations to them over the last year to £20,000.

The funds will enable New Beginnings Reading to continue to run their vital emergency food, clothing and toiletries services.

Many Homeless people are currently in temporary accommodation but with this due to end soon together with people losing their jobs or on reduced incomes due to being furloughed. New Beginnings Reading are looking at reopening their All Night Cafe as they are expecting an increase in the number of people that need to use their services.

St Michael’s Hospice (North Hampshire)

MCKS donated £5,000 to St Michael’s Hospice (North Hampshire).

During the Pandemic, many charities lost vital donation and fundraising income and St Michaels Hospice will use the funds to help fund one of their nurses.

St Michaels is dedicated to providing care to people who are affected by life-limiting illness and works hard to give their patients the best possible quality of life by providing specialist care and support both within their Hospice in Basingstoke and at patients’ homes throughout North Hampshire.

Their services are free of charge and are tailored to help patients and families cope as best they can with the challenges they face.
